Shalina Resources has a number of investment projects underway, offering medium and long-term growth. These projects will significantly improve and expand the existing capacity of the company's production facilities. Considerable capital and expertise has been invested into its operations and the company is focused on creating value within the DRC, thereby working in line with the Government's long term strategy to encourage downstream processing of minerals within the country. The Company brings benefits to all key stakeholders through wealth transfer, social development, job creation, skills transfer, payment of taxes and royalties.
The Company's long term goal is to increase its presence in the DRC, emerging as the leading producer of copper and cobalt metal. The current programme will see the Company strengthen its vertically integrated structure and increase its production capacity to 50,000 tpa of copper cathodes and 6,000 tpa of cobalt salt by 2016.
