Flotation & Roasting Plant

Shalina Resources is currently concentrating oxide ores using heavy media separation plants HMS I and HMS II at the Etoile mine. This feed is then further refined at the Usoke plant to produce Cu Cathodes and Co Salts.

The mining plans shows that within a few years as the mine gets deeper a mixed and then sulphide layer of ore will be reached.

To concentrate the mixed/sulphide ores a flotation and roasting plant is planned using pyrometalurgical techniques. The sulphide concentrates will be converted as oxides to treat them at the Usoke hydrometallurgical plant.

A life of mine study and process enginering feasibility study is under work by AMC for this flotation plant. It is expected to be ready in Q4 2011.

Flotation test work and basic engineering has been completed and tenders have been dispatched for potential EPCM contractors.

It is expected that the EPCM contract for the flotation and roasting plant will be in place by Q4 2011 and the plant will be ready for commissioning in Q2 2013.
