Co SX/EW Plant

The construction of the cobalt SX/EW circuit at Usoke is partly completed and balance engineering and construction work is in progress.

The introduction of a cobalt SX/EW circuit will form a core part of the overall upgrade, allowing the Company for the first time to produce Cobalt Cathode in bigger volumes. This will significantly increase Copper and Cobalt recoveries, allowing further value to be captured through improved efficiencies, as well as improved margins through production of Cobalt Cathode.

Test work has been completed to produce high grade Cobalt cathode using state of the art pilot plant at Usoke. The pilot plant is now producing approximately 30tpa with 99.9% grade cobalt cathode.

This development will also mark a further move towards vertical integration and value creation within the DRC, in line with the Governments long term goals.
